Panax Ginseng Root · Dual Extract · Full Spectrum · Wild Cultivated
✧ What is Panax Ginseng Root?
Panax ginseng is the true ginseng, the most renowned of all the tonic roots of Traditional Chinese Medicine, where it is known as ren shen, the "man root", for the way its forked root resembles the human form. It has been treasured for thousands of years as the king of the Qi tonics.
The root grows slowly in the cool forests and mountains of north-east Asia, and the most valued roots are those left to mature for many years. Ours is a concentrated dual extract of the root, capturing both its water-soluble and its fat-soluble compounds.
✧ What is a dual extract, and why does it matter?
The most valued compounds in many tonic herbs sit in two different fractions: water-soluble compounds that release into hot water, and fat-soluble compounds that only release into alcohol. A dual extract performs both, then concentrates the result at a 10:1 ratio, capturing the full spectrum of the herb's chemistry in a form the body can readily absorb.
The liquid extract is dried with fine spray technology into a micro-fine powder. As a dual extract it carries both water-soluble and fat-soluble compounds, so it is best stirred into hot water; a little may not fully dissolve, which is normal for a true full spectrum dual extract. Nothing is added, and nothing is standardised away.

✧ Your questions, answered
› Is there a substrate or filler in the powder, such as rice powder?
No. Our Panax Ginseng is a pure dual extract, with no substrate, no rice powder and no filler of any kind. The powder is the extract and nothing else, free from fillers, preservatives, bulking agents and humectants.
Customers sometimes notice that several of our extracts share a similar fine, even texture, and wonder whether something has been added to carry them. It has not. The liquid extract is dried with fine spray technology into a micro-fine powder, so what you are looking at is the dried extract itself, not an added base.
› It is a 10:1 extract, so how much raw root does a serving reflect?
Our Panax Ginseng is a 10:1 dual extract. That ratio means around 10g of the original dried root goes into every 1g of finished powder. So a daily 1g serving, roughly half a level teaspoon, reflects in the region of 10g of dried root, concentrated down into an easy spoonful.
The concentration is why a little goes a long way, and why there is no brewing or steeping to do. The work has already been done in the extraction.
› Is there any alcohol left in the finished extract?
Our dual extraction draws on both water and alcohol, so that the water-soluble and the fat-soluble compounds of the root are both captured. The alcohol is part of the making, not the finished powder. Once both extractions are complete, the liquid extract is dried with fine spray technology into a micro-fine powder, and the alcohol is driven off in that drying.
What you receive is a dry, full-spectrum extract powder, with nothing added back in.
› Do you test your Panax Ginseng for heavy metals?
Yes. Every batch is tested for purity, including heavy metals, pesticides and other contaminants, before it reaches you. You can view the current Certificate of Analysis, which you will also find linked on the ingredients tab above.
Ginseng is a root grown slowly in the soil, so heavy metals are a fair thing to ask about, and it is why we test each batch rather than assume.
