Handmade Birch Wood Serving Spoon (Large)
We have 20 large deliciously shaped serving spoons made from a fallen birch tree (that came down in a spring storm, just missing our chicken coop!)
These beautiful spoons capture the magic of the season - sharing a meal & time together. Each spoon is slightly different and a work of art. The process of turning the birch into these delightful gifts has taken 2 seasons - designing, axe work and then refining the shape through hours of knife work. Adorning each with bevels, facets & hand-burnished kolrosing has transformed a barrowful of unassuming wood into spoons to last a lifetime
Half ladle, half serving spoon - the generous bowl and gently sweeping handle make these a pleasure for dishing up rich, soupy suppers
- Beautifully handmade from Scottish birch wood (hardwood)
- Sealed with a specialist Japanese ceramic 'glass-like' glaze so the spoons do not need re-oiling. The glaze creates a permanently durable, water-repellant and scratch-resistant finish
- Size: 27cm total length, bowl of the spoon is 7cm wide - sizes vary slightly, as each piece is unique & one-of-a-kind
